OMG: Rajinikanth betrayed by Dhanush’s father?
Legal troubles for superstar Rajinikanth seem to be mounting as his name is dragged in a civil suit of Rs 65 lakh fraudery
Ever since Kochadaiiyaan released last May, life hasn’t been a walk in the park for Rajinikanth. Both his last year releases – Lingaa and Kochadaiiyaan, had a lot of money riding on it, but alas they turned out to be just average grossers at box office.
Rajinikanth had to repay a hefty sum to the protesting distributors of Lingaa, as the distributors had incurred huge losses from the film. Recently, there was a FIR lodged against Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha, for forging documents in court of law. And now, we hear a civil suit has been filed against Rajinikanth for a fraudery of Rs 65 lakhs done by his son-in-law Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja.
According to the petitioner, who is also a financer, Dhanush’s dad Kasthuri Raja had borrowed a sum of Rs 65 lakhs and had promised that Rajinikanth will repay in case he fails to. Petitioner claims that Rajini was apparently aware of this loan of money taken on his name by Kasthuri Raja, and yet did not take any action.
Rumour has it that Kasthuri Raja had used that money to fund Faisal Saif’s Main Hoon Rajinikanth. If you remember, Rajinikanth was completely against the release of this film as he claimed that it misused his name. The matter escalated quickly, forcing the director to change the title of the film. And now if the rumour that Kasthuri Raja had funded Main Hoon Rajinikanth is true, then Rajinikanth was clearly back stabbed by his son-in-laws father.
While there are no solid proofs to substantiate petitioner’s claims, going by petitioner’s version of the story, Rajinikanth was betrayed by Dhanush’s dad not once but twice – by taking loan using Rajini’s name and by using that money to fund a movie which misused Rajini’s name. We wonder what superstar Rajinikanth has to say about all this? Will this strain the relationship between Rajinikanth and Dhanush? Only time will tell.
